Area of Research: Bioorganic Chemistry
The Hofferberth lab employs the tools of organic chemistry and biochemistry
to explore aspects of insect olfaction.
Projects include:
- The synthesis and evaluation of the organic compounds involved in
the mutualistic association of ants and butterflies.
- Biochemical and biophysical chracterization of a pheromone binding
protein from the cockroach Leucophaea maderae
